Overview

Specialized StudyYour dream of writing a movie script and to have it read by entertainment industry decision makers is about to become reality. You can develop your screenplay from idea to finished piece in four courses — Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Rewriting.

Use these classes to rekindle your motivation to write. Join fellow writers from Orange County in stimulating, exciting weekly classes and watch your story idea grow into a full fledged screenplay.

Completing UC Irvine Extension's Specialized Studies in Screenwriting provides a supportive environment for you to work on your screenplay and puts you in a preferred position to be considered for admission into UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting.

Program Requirements

This specialized studies is awarded upon successful completion of the 4 courses (12 units).

Entry in program starts in Fall Quarter. All course work must be completed within five years. Early registration advised due to limited enrollment.
