Leadership & Management Program
for the Life Sciences Industry (LAMP)

Overview

The program is the latest evolution of the well-respected LAMP program, known for turning out some of the most competitive, in-demand future leaders in the field of technology. The “LAMP for Life Sciences” program has been specifically designed to address the needs of professionals involved in the development and delivery of life science. .

This program focuses on the skills that life science professionals are not taught in engineering and science education – teaching the specific aptitudes these professionals need in order to move from being average workaday scientists to leading or managing groups of scientists or engineers. This unique program offers timely, relevant and industry-specific curriculum applicable to the unique environment of the technical life science professional from topics such as manufacturing, finance, and marketing, to human resources, business strategy, communication and leadership—all built around biotech terms and cases.

Schedule

The LAMP for the Life Sciences Industry program is offered bi-annually, in the Winter and Summer Quarters.

Certificate Requirements

In order to receive the certificate, students need to complete both of the required sessions of the program (80 hours of in-class instruction). Students will also complete work on a bio/ pharma-related group project, two online webinars, and a field trip. Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in each session.
