Gain the knowledge and skills needed to troubleshoot a Red Hat Linux system. This course provides a detailed look at a variety of Linux system problems ranging from common to not-so-common. You'll begin by learning an effective methodology for approaching troubleshooting tasks and exploring useful troubleshooting tools. Next, you'll learn about rescue procedures followed by a wide variety of troubleshooting techniques for such Linux system functions and components as the boot process, file systems, system backups, networking commands, X11, Syslog, RPM, user and group management, DNS issues, Samba issues, Kernel modules, and RAID. The course consists primarily of lab exercises with approximately 25% of class time dedicated to lectures.
