About the Syllabus
You must complete your syllabus and turn in a copy to the planning department at least two full weeks before your class begins. UC Irvine Extension has created a special format that all instructors must use to create their class syllabus. On this page you will find several documents that will help you to create a syllabus with the right information for your class and that complies with the style guidelines that UC Irvine Extension requires.

- Syllabus Template Instructions
We recommend that you review and print this PDF file before building your syllabus. It provides instructions both on syllabus content as well as using the Microsoft Word templates correctly.
- Syllabus – Example One and Two
This is a fully completed syllabus formatted in the style we require (Word document). You may want to open this document and type over it to create your first syllabus using the new style.
- Syllabus – Blank
If you would prefer not to overwrite either of our example syllabi, you may want to use this blank syllabus template to create your document.
