ACP Business Administration
Overview
Today’s business environment practically changes overnight. The most successful companies are those companies whose employees have an understanding of finance and marketing, possess skills to build effective teams and understand how to manage effectively. It is the objective of UC Irvine Extension to provide a business administration program for individuals who have no formal educational background in business and will give selected personnel an understanding of the managerial functions, roles and skills necessary to be successful in the competitive world.

Who Should Attend
Newly appointed managers from sales, marketing, purchasing, finance, and human resources will benefit from the courses in this program. Participants will obtain a strong foundation in business functions, the tools for business analysis, and management functions.
Certificate Requirements
A certificate is awarded upon completion of the six required courses listed below in an accelerated format and the Professional Communication Seminar with a grade of "C" or better in each course.
All certificate programs at UC Irvine Extension require professional-level English language proficiency in listening and note-taking, reading comprehension and vocabulary, written expression, and oral presentation. International students who do not meet certificate program admissions requirements are invited to enroll first in one of our English language program offerings.
Curriculum
The Business Administration Certificate Program embodies the best practices and standards of business today. Its goal is to provide competence in the areas of finance, management, marketing and the law.
Introduction to an ACP
Gain an overview of the American higher educational system and acquire the academic skills to ensure your success in an ACP.
Professional Communications Seminar (PCS)
Understand American business culture, sharpen your communication and presentation skills, learn professional etiquette, and improve your business English.

Internships
As an optional last course and for an additional fee of $1,350, you have the opportunity to apply academic theory and gain practical experience in a variety of businesses and industries for up to three months. A research project provides additional training. Also included in the internship are the Resume Development and Interviewing Skills workshops.
