Welcome to OLLI at UC Irvine – Spring 2009

With a brand new look for our semiannual book we start a new year of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of California, Irvine. Welcome to another fresh start in pursuit of continuous enrichment and learning for the members of our energetic, creative, generous organization.

Enjoy reading this newest edition which evolved from the combined efforts of over a hundred volunteer course developers, planners, presenters, and support teams and committees. Peggy Maradudin, Vice President, Programs, hand-carried the process from ideas, through committees, and with our able OLLI office staff until the copy reached the UC Irvine Extension Marketing department. Amie Miller then blended it into the revised format which you are holding in your hands. Our goal—a lighter, more user friendly, less expensive catalog that tells us all we need to know to select the courses and events you hope to attend. Thanks to everyone involved for the many hours donated to this essential, exciting cause.

All of the forms needed to complete your registration are included within the book. Look at every page, following the steps listed in the directions and get ready to enjoy another wonderful term with OLLI at UC Irvine.

We always need help to keep our program thriving. If you would enjoy working with fellow members in any phase of our organization -- curriculum, finance, member services, administrative support, activities, volunteers, or even the Board -- please let us know. We remain strong because of the sparks provided by our vibrant participants.
