New IT Lab Debuts at UC Irvine Extension – Oracle, Cisco, and Sun Certification Training Courses to be Featured

IRVINE, Calif. – February 2003– through a partnership with empowerTrain, Corp., is launching a suite of courses that help students prepare for Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Cisco, and Microsoft certification exams. Courses will be held in a newly constructed computer facility located at University Center across from the UCI campus in Irvine.

The facility features three dedicated labs that are fully equipped with Sun, Oracle, and Cisco hardware and software. Seven certification training pathways are available including: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP): Database Administrator and Database Developer tracks, Sun Microsystems Solaris 9, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD – C# Programming Track).

All courses feature official, vendor-supplied courseware and instructors who are certified in the areas they teach. UC Irvine Extension is among one of the few places in Southern California offering such a diverse combination of programs with certified instructors and courseware.
