IRVINE, Calif. – March 2, 2005 – UC Irvine Extension’s Life Planning Program is sponsoring a “Retirement Options Fair” Saturday, April 2, 2005 to bring together ideas and resources for interesting and meaningful retirement activities. The event is open to both current retirees and “boomers” beginning to look at retirement planning. The fair will take place on campus at UC Irvine Extension Buildings A and C from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“The Retirement Options Fair is the ideal opportunity for anyone—no matter what their age or retirement status—to learn about the options that are available in retirement,” Diane Goepp, acting director of Career/Life Planning Programs at UC Irvine Extension, said. “This is one of many events that we host throughout the year to help enrich people’s lives who are seeking meaningful activities, new relationships and the opportunity to begin life’s next great adventure.”
The Retirement Options Fair will include representatives from a wide variety of local and national organizations that will be available to help explore options in work, play, learning and volunteering, including the Bowers Museum, Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity, Southwind Kayak Center and Executives Unlimited.
The event is open to the public and has a registration fee of $10. To register for the program, log onto http://extension.uci.edu/community/careerlife/life/ or call (949) 824-7128.
