UC Irvine Extension and The Orange County Paralegal Association Host The 5th Annual Paralegal Career Conference
One-Day Event Discusses How to Launch a Career in the Paralegal World
IRVINE, Calif. – April 4, 2006 – UC Irvine Extension and the Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA) will jointly host the 5th Annual Career Day Conference on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Social Sciences Laboratory located on the UC Irvine campus. The event will focus on education and career opportunities for those interested in the paralegal field.
According to the Employment Development Department, California’s paralegal profession is projected to grow 68% by 2008. The event will help those interested in pursuing a paralegal career explore the current and developing options available. Attendees will hear from a number of speakers offering insight into a variety of topics, including the typical day of a paralegal, how to land that crucial first job, and the different fields paralegals can specialize in.
"This event is a wonderful opportunity for anyone thinking about joining the exciting paralegal profession," said Kathy Miller, CP, CAS, and graduate of the UC Irvine Extension Paralegal Certificate Program. "Industry experts from UC Irvine Extension and OCPA will review the necessary educational background needed for the profession, and local law offices and businesses will explain what they are looking for in potential hires."
The cost for the conference is $35 for OCPA members and $40 for the general public. The fee includes breakfast and lunch.
