UCI Parking Policy

Short Term Parking

If you are parking on the UCI campus for four days or less, you may purchase a short-term permit from a Parking & Transportation attendant at one of the parking structures, or from the curbside dispensers located at each campus entrance (except Bison Road). The dispensers take dollar bills or quarters only.
 

Parking Restrictions

At the entrance to each parking lot is a sign listing which type of permit is valid in that lot. Check your permit for valid dates and time. The UC Irvine Extension evening permit (UX) is always valid in General and AR Preferred parking spaces, 4pm-10pm (except AR Preferred spaces marked "Enforced 24 Hours"). The UC Irvine Extension day permit is valid every day, 7am-10pm, in General spaces only.

The Extension permit is not valid:

• AR Preferred spaces marked: "Enforced 24 Hours"
• Resident-Only lots
• Posted special events areas
• Disabled medical, service or metered spaces

Disabled Student Parking

Provisions may be made for handicapped parking and classroom access. Please contact UCI Parking & Transportation Services at (949) 824-7486, or the Office for Disability Services at (949) 824-7494 for assistance.

UCI Learning Center

A parking permit is required at all times at the UCI Learning Center and will be provided at no additional charge. It is not valid on the UCI Campus.

On weekdays prior to 4pm, you may park only in stalls designated as "Reserved Parking for UCI Learning Center and UC Irvine Extension." In the evening after 4pm and on weekends, you may park in any unmarked stall in the parking lots immediately adjacent to the building. You may park in stalls designated for visitor, credit union and patient parking after 6pm.

If you have any UCI Learning Center parking concerns, please check with any UCI Learning Center staff member at the Student Services or Events & Facilities Management Office, Room 228.

Obtaining A Parking Permit

When you enroll in a course, you may purchase a UCI campus quarterly parking permit. Your class schedule determines the type of permit available (evening or daytime). Permits expire at the end of the scheduled quarter and are not valid for special events, or in handicapped, service, residential or meter spaces.

• Evening permit: $34.00*
  Valid 5pm-10pm, Mon-Fri and all day Saturday and Sunday.
• Day permit: $74.00*
  Valid 7am-10pm, Monday through Sunday.

*Parking fees are subject to change by authority of UC Irvine Parking and Transportation Services. Oversized vehicles may be subject to additional fees.

Refunds

No refunds available on parking permits (except on courses cancelled or discontinued by UC Irvine Extension. Permits must be returned in order to receive the refund.)

UC Irvine Extension is not responsible for lost or stolen permits. In such cases, you may purchase another permit from University Extension or use the curbside dispensers each time you park.

ACCESS UCI Students

You may purchase a permit directly from the UCI Parking & Transportation Office, Building 7, Room 200, (949) 824-7486.

Helpful Hints

Parking is available in our newest parking structure located directly across from the Extension complex on Pereira Drive. Enter and exit the structure at the corner of Campus and Stanford. If you already have a parking permit, you may park in any space that is not marked as a Reserved space, unless it is after 4pm. If you do not have a permit, you may purchase a day permit for $7 at the structure entrance on Campus and Stanford. Park in any space that is not marked reserved, unless it is after 4pm.

To reach the Extension complex, exit the parking structure on level 3 on the Pereira Drive side of the structure at the pedestrian walkway. Cross Pereira Drive and cross parking lot 3A on your left. You will first see the Women's Opportunities Center. You have now reached the Extension complex.
